The Charter of Rights & Freedoms Is Under Attack

Pierre Poilievre is promising to do what no prime minister has ever dared.

Pierre Poilievre has confirmed that he will use the notwithstanding clause to override and disregard Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

If he gets away with it once, what’s to stop him from doing whatever he wants with your freedoms?

This isn’t about justice, it's about power. 

The Charter protects us all from government overreach. Poilievre wants to be the first PM to strip those protections away, making himself judge, jury, and king. 

Using the notwithstanding clause prevents the courts from stepping in and stopping abuses of power. Once that line is crossed, no right is safe – your freedom of expression, your freedom of and from religion, your equality and human rights, your legal protections could all be on the chopping block. 

This is a turning point for Canada. If we let one leader trample the Charter, we risk losing the very rights that make us Canadian.
